Welcome to FOXFORD
The values we uphold are at the heart of our school community and are important for both students and staff: Learning is for all and we therefore have an inclusive ethos and respect to all, from all.
At Foxford we are a dynamic and vibrant community where everyone is individually valued. Our aim as a school is to ensure students can fulfil their potential and grow into happy, kind and well-rounded individuals. We strive for students to develop their resourcefulness, and resilience, accept responsibility and be challenged to take risks in order to learn and succeed.
We want all students to achieve the best possible qualifications, so that as many doors as possible are open to them in the future. Equally, we are also committed to our students gaining key skills that prepare them for life in the 21st century and for them to become passionate about life-long learning beyond the classroom. We have an extensive pastoral team who support our students’ wellbeing and encourage them in both their studies and life choices.
Being part of Castle Phoenix Trust ensures all our staff and students have the best opportunities. We strongly believe in our 6 Ambitions as having these at the forefront of all we do will make our students better individuals:
“RESPECT TO ALL, FROM ALL”
We have a RESPECT agenda in our school. We reward praise points when our students demonstrate these key attributes.
Learning is at the heart of everything we do at our school! We have created a curriculum which is challenging and engaging for all our students. We want our students to have a love of learning and we want to develop their skills in preparation for their next steps in their futures.
“VALUABLE FOR ALL, VITAL FOR MOST”
We have high expectations of each other and recognise that everyone learns differently. We expect our students to work hard and behave well both inside and outside of the classroom, in order to support them we know that all our students, particularly disadvantaged and SEND students, benefit from a curriculum that includes oracy, reading and digital creativity to support future aspirations. Our learning environments areas are creative, engaging and are constantly driving our students to be independent.
It is our responsibility to provide your child with an outstanding education that nurtures their talents, interests and aspirations. In partnership with parents/carers, the community and our Trust, I know that we will deliver a memorable experience for your child, the product of which will be happy, inspiring individuals who are equipped to face their future aspirations and challenges.

ANNOUNCEMENTS

Student learning
Learning is fun! We want students to excel in all they do at Foxford.
Learning is paramount in all we do and we want our young people to be curious learners, asking questions and finding new ways to learn.
Our Four Principles of Great Learning which are the qualities we expect to be fostered by our students are CODE:

Challenge

Ownership

Dialogue

Engagement
We help our students with their next steps and therefore ensure our Aspirations Ambition is at the forefront of everything we do for them. Regular meetings with our career advisor, visits to colleges and universities are just a few of our support mechanisms we promise to put in place for our students.

Student Leadership
We give all students the opportunity to nurture and develop their leadership skills.
We give all students the opportunity to nurture and develop their leadership skills. We want all students to become Resilient, Engaged, Self-regulated, Positive, Engaged, Cooperative and Team players at our school.
All our students are leaders in their own right but we do have groups of leaders within the school who are the student champions and will be the voice of other students.
SIXTH FORM LEADERSHIP TEAM
Students are given the opportunity to apply for Senior Student Leadership roles when they enrol in Year 12.
Student COUNCIL LEADS
They are the voice of the school body and help support charity events and inform us what students want us to hear.
Faculty and SUBJECT AMBASSADORS
Faculty Student Leaders from Years 7-10 ensure they meet regularly with Faculty Leads and discuss curriculum, trips and interview new staff who we are recruiting.
Student Challenge
We believe all students at Foxford can excel in at least one area. We will help support students find the area they can shine. They are supported through our strategy of ‘Teaching to The Top’ and also through our focus on CODE (Challenge, Ownership, Dialogue and Engagement).
HIGH ATTAINERS AT FOXFORD
High Attainers are students who show great potential to achieve high level outcomes across a range of subjects. Identification of these students begins on entry to Foxford with those who achieve 109+ in English and Maths SATs in Year 6. They will be expected to work in the bands aiming for GCSE grades 8-9 or in some cases, 6-7.
They are supported to achieve challenging targets through quality first teaching as well as a range of enrichment opportunities including STEM club and outreach programmes with universities.

Student Support

We ensure that students have quality care, guidance and support. Student wellbeing is at the heart of what we do.
At Foxford we are committed to providing a quality experience for all students, giving them the opportunities to learn alongside a robust care, guidance and support system.
The pastoral and support teams are passionate about students excelling in all areas of their lives. We have strong systems linking key areas within the school to give our students the best and most appropriate support.
Each year group has a team of pastoral support including a dedicated Non Teaching Year Leader, Senior Leader and a team of tutors to ensure that our students’ wellbeing is our top priority. In addition to this, Learning Mentors and Teaching Assistants are attached to support learning and become familiar adults within the year group along with a careers advisor, wellbeing team and a mental health lead to support all students.
